Website accessibility audit
An AltGrade audit scans the public pages, scores what the rules find, and lists the fixes in plain English. You get a record you can hand to a developer today.
What you receive
The one-off audit covers up to 50 pages. You get the full fix list, a dated PDF, and a statement draft in a UK, European Accessibility Act, or US shape. You edit the draft before anyone else sees it.
Pages are chosen from the homepage, navigation, sitemap, products, cart, checkout, contact and a journal page when those URLs exist. Desktop and mobile widths are both opened. Checkout and cart count for more than a blog post.
What the audit looks for
axe-core runs in a real browser. Extra checks cover page language, vague link text, weak alt text, focus visibility, and whether the keyboard reaches the menu. You see unnamed buttons, pale prices, fields with no labels, skipped headings, and video without captions when the rules can see them.
Each issue includes the failure, a better example, and the steps for the platform. Shopify media alt is a different click-path from a Wix image setting. The report says which one you are on.
How to run it
Start with the free scan if you want the top five issues before you pay. When you want the longer crawl and the PDF, buy the £49 audit. No tax is added. Monitoring is separate: £19 a month rescans one site and keeps the history.
After the PDF lands, fix the critical items first. Rescan. The next report should show those items gone. If you are an agency, white-label plans put your name on that PDF.
What to do with the result
Send the PDF to the person who edits the theme. Do not file it as a certificate. Book a manual review when you need a person to walk checkout with a screen reader. That review starts from £495 and is arranged separately.
Use the statement draft as the public page on your own site once you have edited the contact details and the known issues. Publishing the draft is the start of the record, not the end of the work.
After the PDF arrives
Sort by impact. Critical and serious items on the cart and checkout go first, because those pages weigh more in the score and they are the pages that take payment. A pale footer link can wait until Friday.
Hand the developer the platform steps, not only the rule id. Shopify media alt, a WooCommerce variation button and a Wix heading style are different screens. The report names the screen.
Rescan when the theme is published. Keep both PDFs. The difference is the progress you show a client or a colleague. The statement draft sits in the same delivery. Edit the contact email and the known issues before you publish it on your site.
The audit is £49. Monitoring starts at £19 a month for one site. The free scan, up to 10 pages, is the way to see the top five groups before you buy. No tax is added. Start with the URL you already send to customers.
Questions
How many pages are in the audit?
Up to 50 on the one-off audit. The free scan covers up to 10.
Is the PDF a certificate?
No. It is a dated list of findings and fixes.
What does it cost?
The audit is £49. Monitoring starts at £19 a month. The first 10-page scan is free.
What does the audit miss?
Automated scans cannot catch every WCAG issue. Use the PDF, then have a person try checkout.
