Fix videos with no captions
Video with speech and no captions excludes deaf viewers and anyone with the sound off.
A spoken discount is invisible.
Steps
- Play the video muted.
- Confirm a caption track.
- Include meaningful sounds, not only speech.
Failing example
A hero film speaks a code and has no captions.
Better example
An English caption track shows the code.
Shopify
Upload a VTT file to the player used by the Shopify video section.
WooCommerce
Caption the YouTube or Vimeo file embedded on WooCommerce products.
WordPress
Add a track on the WordPress Video block.
Wix
Attach captions in the Wix video settings.
